Starting at the Day Care Centre

The best moment to put your child in a day care centre depends on your personal circumstances. Many children come to us when they are two or three years old. But even younger children who are only a few months old or possibly one year old are welcome. They, too, will find a nurturing and caring environment with us. Naturally, we take older children as well, even those of school age.

Children seek contact with other children from the very first months they are in this world. From the very beginning they are curious - about people, things and everything their surroundings may have to offer. Our day care centres put a lot of store by providing the children with a beautiful and stimulating environment.

Children need a feeling of security. They get this feeling mostly from their parents. Therefore, when a child comes to the day care centre, one of the parents - if at all possible - should take the time to be with their child as it gets used to the daily routine at the day cay centre. During the first few days the parent should try to be present at the day care centre, gradually reducing the time spent there each day, until the child has established a solid, trusting bond with the educator.

The educators at our day care centres are experts in everything to do with creating "a gentle launch" into the world for the children as well as everything to do with the children's well-being at the day care centre. They are always there for you if you need advice and are quite happy to show you around the day care centre - even if you just want to take a look at the centre to see what it is like without committing your child to going there.

Click ["178 Kitas zur Auswahl"] on the German page of this site to get a list of names and phone numbers of contacts at the day care centres as well as all sorts of other information. Then choose a few centres to take a look at. You can make contact with a day care centre over the phone or via e-mail. A visit to a day care centre will help you make the right decision for your child and your family.
